Galiano committee seeks septic-system terms for housing covenant

The Galiano Local Trust Committee asked staff to explore including septic-system details from the Mayne Island Housing Agreement in a section 219 covenant for the Galiano Affordable Living Initiative Society housing project. The motion carried, according to the meeting minutes.[1]
The committee also asked staff to remove sections 2.1(b) and 3.6 from the housing agreement. The minutes record that motion as carried.[1]
Planner Brad Smith told the meeting that a septic report identified an alternative dispersal-field location to address ecological concerns, and that the society had received a provincial water licence.[1]
The minutes scheduled a community information meeting for September 6 and a public hearing for September 27.[1]
