The Galiano Island Local Trust Committee scheduled a Community Information Meeting and Public Hearing for February 10, 2026, for rezoning applications GL-RZ-2023.2 and GL-RZ-2021.2. [1]
For GL-RZ-2023.2, the committee also directed staff to add a condition requiring pump tests to confirm the groundwater quality and quantity of all wells on future lots with residential use before subdivision approval. [1]

For GL-RZ-2021.2, the committee gave second reading to proposed Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 292 and Land Use Bylaw No. 293. The staff report said two pumping tests remained outstanding and that covenants must be registered before the bylaws are adopted. [1]
