Galiano trustees advance public-notification bylaw

The Galiano Island Local Trust Committee gave three readings to Public Notification Bylaw No. 299 and sent it to the Islands Trust Executive Committee for consideration of approval. [1]
The bylaw requires at least two means of publication for a notice, with online posting, print newspaper and direct mailout identified as the available options. [1]
The committee discussed continuing physical postings on notice boards and noted its standing resolution to advertise public-hearing notices in the Active Page Magazine in addition to legally required advertising in the Driftwood Newspaper. [1]
The committee also gave three readings to Meeting Procedures Repeal Bylaw No. 298 and sent it to the Islands Trust Executive Committee for consideration of approval; Ben Mabberley opposed each reading and the approval referral. [1]
The next regular meeting is scheduled for October 14, 2025, at Galiano South Community Hall. [1]
