Galiano trustees advance Rockafella rezoning application
The committee directed staff to gather more information and prepare draft bylaws for a proposal to rezone land that includes a sawmill site.

The proposal would rezone land from Forest 1 to a split zone, with 80 hectares designated Forest 3 and 2 hectares Forest Industrial; the Galiano Island Local Trust Committee directed staff to proceed with further information and prepare draft bylaws.[1]
The minutes say the existing lot includes five buildings and a site used as a sawmill, and that the applicant said the application was based on the existing Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaws.[1]
Trustees identified access to four landlocked lots, amenity zoning for the Galiano housing organization and consultation with First Nations as topics for consideration.[1]
The committee also adopted proposed Bylaws 231 and 232, concerning amendments to the Official Community Plan and Land Use Bylaw for the DL 64, 68, 72 and 87 rezoning project.[1]
